Softball Spring Season

Spring Season Overview

Spring season is our most popular season of the little league program with nearly 700 players participating each year. As a Little League organization, teams play other teams in their division within Tigard Little League during the spring season. There may also be an opportunity to play teams from nearby Little Leagues. At the end of the season, AA, AAA and Majors teams participate in division tournaments. Tournament brackets are formed based on standings from the regular season.

Softball is intended for girls ages 6-15 as of December 31, 2016.

The Tigard Little League Softball levels are described below. Please read the information carefully and determine the appropriate level of play for your child. Tryouts are held for Juniors, Majors and AAA divisions to ensure players' skills match the division in which they play. As players advance through the different levels of softball, the quality of play improves and the level of excitement, intensity, and competition increases. AA is the last level of truly developmental softball, where Managers and Coaches are strongly encouraged to play players at all positions that can be handled safely. At the AAA, Majors and Juniors levels, some Managers and Coaches limit players to a few fielding positions to establish a more regular line-up. At these levels of play, some players may see more playing time than others. The minimum playing requirement for each player is six defensive outs and one at bat per game. All teams bat the roster throughout the game.

2018 Oregon District 4 Softball InterLock Rules

It is likely AAA/AA and for certain Majors/Juniors Tigard Little League teams will play both teams in district 4. For those games, "InterLock Rules" are followed. These rules are applicable when playing interlock games at all softball league levels (Majors, AAA, AA and A). The "InterLock Rules" are located in the Coaches -> Game Day Information area of the TLL website.
